Laura Nash/designer/pattern maker/instructor
Welcome to my work studio. As you can see, every inch is packed with tools and supplies, probably much like your sewing space. I've been sewing for more than *gasp* 40 years, Barbie being my first client. Then at 17, I designed a wedding gown for my mom. Turning pro in 1988 just to make a buck, I decided to tackle college, with a focus on historic garments. I began designing vintage inspired formal gowns for clients, shows, and competitions all over the US. Pictured on the left I have hung some of the awards. My designs have also been featured on TV, and in print media, including Threads Magazine. After years of sewing, pattern making, and dressing all figure types, in 2007 I began publishing patterns, and in 2009, I launched Sew Chic Pattern Company, a line of modern patterns that has that classic retro style in every single design.
